Mach 20 (15300 miles per hour). It has a 740-mile range and can carry a
nuclear charge of up to 300 kilotons.
- Poseidon: an autonomous nuclear-powered torpedo with
unlimited range that can travel at a 3000-foot depth maintaining a
little over 100 knots.
- Burevestnik: a nuclear-powered cruise missile that flies at
around 270 miles per hour and can stay in the air for 24 hours, giving
it a 6000-mile range.
- Peresvet: a mobile laser complex that can blind drones and satellites, knocking out space and aerial reconnaissance systems.
- Sarmat: a new heavy intercontinental missile that can fly
arbitrary suborbital courses (such as over the South Pole) and strike
arbitrary points anywhere on the planet. Because it does not follow a
predictable ballistic trajectory it is impossible to intercept.

Russia is working on establishing a military base on a Venezuelan island in the Caribbean, according to Russian news reports.
Russia deployed Tu-160 supersonic nuclear-capable bombers to La Orchila, a Venezuelan island with a military base and airfield, according to Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta. Russia has been eyeing the island for its military presence for a decade.
Venezuelan law reportedly prohibits foreign countries from establishing a military base on Venezuelan soil. However, Russia’s deployment of bombers to an already-established base is permitted on a “temporary” basis.

outlets are reporting that the Kremlin is planning to establish a
forward outpost on the Venezuelan island of La Orchila in the Caribbean
Sea and base nuclear-capable Tu-160 Blackjack bombers, two of which just
wrapped up a recent deployment to the country, at the site. If true, this could help bolster the embattled regime of Venezuela’s dictatorial president Nicolás Maduro and would significantly change the strategic reality in the Western Hemisphere for the United States.

Russia had sent a pair of Tu-160s to Venezuela on Dec. 10, 2018, and those bombers left the country on Dec. 14, 2018. This was the third visit by these type of aircraft to the Latin American country since 2008 and they conducted a 10-hour long-range patrol in the Caribbean for the first time ever during this trip.

Three systems theorists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich
have taken a database listing 37 million companies and investors
worldwide and analyzed all 43,060 transnational corporations and share
ownerships linking them. They built a model of who owns what and what their revenues are and mapped the whole edifice of economic power.
They discovered that global corporate control has a distinct bow-tie
shape, with a dominant core of 147 firms radiating out from the middle.
Each of these 147 own interlocking stakes of one another and together
they control 40% of the wealth in the network. A total of 737 control
80% of it all. The top 20 are at the bottom of the post. This is, say
the paper's authors, the first map of the structure of global corporate
