The World Socialist Web Site first identified the phenomenon of the CIA Democrats in a series
published in March. At the time we noted the large number of candidates
drawn from the military-intelligence apparatus seeking Democratic
nominations in competitive congressional districts. If the Democrats won
the November election, we warned, such military-intelligence operatives
would hold the balance of power in the new House of Representatives.
